Holiday dinner in our house always involve our favorite pie recipe from Grandma which is the Cranberry and Apple pie. The cranberry puts a little twist to the traditional all American Apple pie recipe and gives it a little tartness. I hope you enjoy it!
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1/3 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp cinnamon
4 cups of sliced tart apples
2 cups of fresh cranberries
Place uncooked crust on bottom of pie pan
Empty apple/cranberry mix onto uncooked crust
Put top crust on top of apple/cranberry mix. If you want the cross hatch look, cut the crust in half inch strips then place on top of mix cross wise.
Dab top of crust with 2 tablespoons of butter
Bake for 40 minutes @ 400 degrees or break up the temperature and time to 30 minutes @ 375 degrees, 10 minutes @ 425 degrees.
